About This Quote

If you lose someone, you feel a loss, then after a while you fill in the hole in your life and the loss gradually gets smaller and smaller and eventually goes away. There's a point to the pain. There's a reason and a direction. I lost my son to cancer when he was only 13 years old. When I found out about his illness, it felt like my world fell apart.

I was completely lost for words and didn't know how to deal with the pain that was surging through me. At first, it felt like my heart was being ripped out of my chest. But, after time passed by, I learned to live with the loss because I had to find out how to move on. I lost someone so very close to me but now I realize that is not my fault at all. He wasn't ready to leave this world yet so he came back again.

He is still here with us today and we are still holding on tightly to him because we would never want him to leave us again. His presence in our lives is not gone forever; it has just moved into another form that we can feel even more strongly than before. I lost someone so very close to me but now I realize that is not my fault at all because he isn't gone forever; he will always be with us in some form or another. The hole is filled up with all of the wonderful memories of him that are stored away inside of my head, waiting for me to pull them out whenever I need him most. Because of his strong presence in my life, even though he isn't physically here with me every day, I'm happy knowing that he will always be there for me when I need him most.
